Decided to go the whole hog and rebuild my RS8 crossovers. Fitted some Clarity Cap SA's a while ago which really opened up the soundstage and timing.

Ordered some Mundorf CF14 air coil inductors and BA140 ones this week, being made to the exact values that I want. Should get them next week.

That should get the perfect performance out of these speakers, will let you know how I get on.

Info on them can be found here

Sounds like fun! How do you decide which components to replace and with what? Is it just a question of inserting a better quality equivalent of the existing component?

There are times when I think that I should learn to do a bit of soldering and take on a project. I am assuming that if I took, say, my NAD 325BEE and replaced all the components with better quality ones, it would no longer sound like a budget amp? Or are there other considerations?

Wished it was as simple as that.

Cross overs are quite straight forward and it is down to replacing with the same values, or adjusting them slightly if you know what you are up to. I find you do have to do the final adjustments by ear to find the sweet spot.

Amps / pre amps are a whole different ball game and you really do have to gen yourself up to have any idea what you are doing.
