Impedance ranges

I want to purchase a FiiO E7 to act as a DAC between my computer and my headphones. The stated headphone impedance range of the FiiO E7 is 16-300. Problem is I use 12ohm in-ear headphones (Beyerdynamic DTX100).

What will be the outcome of using by 12 ohm headphones? Will it work at all, will I damage something or will I just get additional noise? Will the noise be bad enough to defeat the object of using a DAC in the first place?

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

I suspect there will be noise as when I tried IEMs on my X-CANV8P there was noise. IEMs are not really for use with headphone amps unless you consider a portable one, of which a number have USB DACs as well - Firestone and iBasso come to mind.

So long as you are careful with the volume you will not damage anything.
