They'll retain it just for the die-hards, don't expect any upgrades of any kind to it. It's a mangy old dog aurally and functionally, and ought to be put out of its misery.
As far as i'm aware its still sells well, if you watch ebay the second hand market is still very active and with the lossless formats being used more and more the classic is still going to sell imo.
If you keep listening to the romours then the classic should of been killed of last year.
Though if you look at wikipedia it shows though the timeline the classic is due for an update in sept.
So who knows you will have to wait and see ( fingers crossed for sept )
