Hi All,
Im looking to change my trusty old Sony 29" flatscreen TV for a new system and am new to all of the new products and technology on the market, im learning alot from the magazine and enjoy the reviews although with so much information i am struggling to decide what to purchase.
I have got my mind set on the Panasonic TX-P42G10 or the P46G10 which i am sure will be a good investment as all of the reviews have been great, although with a distance of only 3m from the screen which will be wall mounted, i am unsure what size to go for, either 42" or 46", are there any hard and fast rules or is this personal preference with regards to viewing distance?
I was also considering going for the Panasonic BD60 or BD80 Blu Ray player combined with a Yamaha amp around the £500 mark combined with the Bose AM15 speaker package. Firstly would this package work together, is this a good match, and how well would this work in a normal 6m * 3m lounge with a solid oak floor and standard ceiling height of 2.4m, is there anything that i need to take into consideration?
Since reading the recent review on the Panasonic SC-BT200 i have to admit that i am now considering going for this unit instead of the above due to 5* rating, although is this system going to be really inferior to the above option, or will it be close enough not to notice any major differences in a basic lounge to the average person i.e me....?
I will also be subscribing to Sky HD, so as far as the cabling goes, if i chose the SC-BT200 unit, would i simply connect an optical cable to transfer the audio through from Sky HD to the SC-BT200, and a further optical cable from the TV to transfer the audio from the Freesat HD tuner to the SC-BT200 for audio output through the cinema system? I believe i would then need two HDMI cables, one from SKY HD, and one from the SC-BT200, both to the TV?
I appreciate the above are probably very simple questions but any help would be greatfully appreciated.
Many thanks
