Sounds awesome!
If you can get it in 50-65 inches it will be a game changer!

customisable 150inch+ display with good blacks and actual bright peak highlights - there is no better display in theory

I'll wait for actual side by side comparisons. Samsung made a lot of noise about QLED being better than OLED. But it was nowhere close to it. On paper, this sounds like a better technology than QLED (Sony's first microLED TV debuted in 2012 but then it became quiet).

Yes indeed.

Micro LED is Samsung's name for ILED (Inorganic LED), which is based on the inorganic compound Gallium Nitride (GaN). As such, it is a proper emissive display, but it doesn't suffer from long term degradation and screen burn like OLED. Let's hope Samsung can make it cheap enough.

all about the q9s for me, 10k zones 4k nits and 8k

Samsung has a habit of over promising and under delivering, so I'll wait for actual comparisons. Certainly, if they've managed to create FALD TVs with every pixel as a zone, technically they should be able to surpass OLED.

the thing is, I’m not convinced OLED will deliver everything we need to watch HDR/DV and it is limited to the amount of nits it can produce. I’ve never been a fan of lcd down to poor viewing angles and not so good blacks.

Even if Samsung get this new technology released next year, it won’t be perfect and will need numerous years of upgrades the same as PDP, and now what OLED is going through to improve panels and image quality.

Although, I’ll have to jump 1 day when I want to join the 4k league, but not yet and it will be probably OLED for the deep blacks!

I would like an 8K 21:9 (2.35:1 in metric) display, wafer thin, best technology, enough nits to fill a Liberal Democrat conference but not enough to blind me, one or two HDMIs and a low voltage power supply jack, and that's all. No speakers, no tuner, nothing. Wall mountable only. In sizes from, I dunno, 55 to 140 inches diagonal, please. And for prices from £300 for the smallest to £1500 for the largest.
