Hi,just replaced my Sky+ box with a Humax Foxsat HDR but I have an issue with the volume.

I am running the box through a Denon 1910 AV,connected with a HDMI cable in the DVR input and an optical cable for audio. The problem I have is when I change channel on the Humax the sound all but disappears, but if I change the resolution on the Humax, sound is restored.

Also,I thought HDMI was the only connection I needed,I did have a coaxial connection from Sky box to amp.Any help or pointers with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,Richard

Thanks for the reminder of the lack of need for the optical lead,of course 1 was needed for the Sky+ box as I seem to remember!

So I`m just on HDMI connection but still have the same problem, when I change channel I lose the sound. Its not a fault with the Humax, tried it direct to the tv and no problems, just something I havent got set right with the Denon!

Cheers,Richard

Could be assigning of the inputs? Could be the mode you have the amp in? Have you tried the direct setting so thehe's no decoding going on? Can't remember my settings off hand!

Not sure if this will help but I had a similar problem.

I have both Humax Freesat and a Digitalstream Freeview boxes, both output to a Yamaha amplifier, but when I installed the Humax box there was a massive (unbearable) difference in sound between the two. I solved this by toggling between the two inputs altering the volume levels on the decoder boxes until both felt about the same from the amp. Now all seems OK and I just control volume from the amp.

Thanks for your help with this problem,I tried most of the suggestions but to no avail. So I rang Richer Sounds, where I bought the Humax from, and told them my issue. The guy I spoke to said he had exactly the same problem with the same Humax box and Denon amp,he said he connected the two with HDMI and an optical cable and it solved the problem. As I had already tried this route I wasnt too hopeful, any road up after a little tweaking with the amps input assign,Bob`s your uncle,it worked!

At last,I can sleep again!

Thanks again,Richard
