how set up a dac ?

how do I set up a dac ,
am lost with all these names ,spdif cable ,fire wire to
usb,halide design bridge ,thunderbolt, which
takes me to best use out of the setting ?

You are confused and so are we. It would be helpful if you could tell us why you need a DAC and what pieces of kit you are trying to connect to what.

You could also try reposting this in the DAC subsection of the forum, it might get a better response.
