How good are the Sony MDR-XD200 ?

Hi and welcome.

Will she be bothered about house sound? The other options are huge - for example, many, many reasonably priced Sennheisers etc.

Why not compare some yourself at a local dealers?

Not great to be honest. For about £50 the MDR-V500s are FAR better. Failing that, a pair of budget Sennheisers is the way forward IMO.
