How do I set up my Sky+ with DVD home cinema?

I have just bought a LG 42HL5000 TV and an LG HT554PH 5.1 DVD home cinema. I am having problems setting them up with my Sky+ box. At the moment I can get both to work but I can't get the Sky to come out of the home cinema. Whatever I try to link the sky and dvd boxes results in getting no signal to the TV.

I know I'm a complete muppet and it's probably very simple but can someone please give me a basic set up guide.

I have a couple of scarts, a HDMI cable and an optical cable. Do I need anything else?

At the moment (so a very impatient daughter can watch tele) I have a scart going from the sky+ to the tv and the HDMI going from the dvd to the tv. This is letting the sky signal get to the tv (but obviously not using the cinema speakers) and I could play a DVD (which does use the speakers).

Please help.

You need to connect the optical cable from the home cinema to sky+ box and make sure that the sound settings in sky are set to Dolby D.

I am not sure if you can get the full benefits from 5.1 through sky+ or whether sky hd needed (I would definitely recommend)

Hope this helps.
