How do I embed a link in my signature?

I want to embed a link (to the 'your system' section) in my signature. I thought the correct grammar was:

<a href=""http://www.whathifi.com/forum/your-system/home-last">My" Main system</a>

but it doesn't seem to work.

Anyone know how to do this?

Write the word or words you want used then highlight it with your mouse, open up another tab with the web page you want, copy it then the fourth icon top right paste the web page and you should be done, -sorry haven't explained it very well.

But use Chrome I can not get any link, smiley, picture to work in IE.
