I really admire your work in this forum and hope that you could also help me.
I have a very strange system setup, because I was buying pieces of it through all the time and they do not match so well to each other. I have very good speakers - Opera Mezza, an average Receiver - Pioneer VSX 919 AH and very poor from the sound quality point of view miniPC - AsRock 330HT, which I want to use for playing movies and music. Today as I try to connect just bought AsRock, I discovered that the sound is terrible. I read on this forum a lot about DAC and I am thinking to use it to improve the quality. Did I understand correctly, that if i connect DAC using digital S/PDIF output of my miniPC, it will bypass the sound card of the box? Does it mean that that my miniPC Box will stop damaging the sound or I am still recommended to find something else, which will handle sound better and then to use DAC on it.
Please, any commends or recommendations? I am absoluteky new and I am very sad that I have wasted so much money... DO not know how to continue now..
