home cinema , what to buy

hi

im confused , what to buy

my room is 4 meters by 3 meters

is it worth me buying a full 5.1 set up , or would it be better if i just brought say B&W 684

5.1 surely is too much , the room seems small , cos some ppl here talk about 8meter long rooms etc .....

I guess it depends what else is in the room except for the TV and surround system?

For example if you just use it for a kind of snug theatre room, with just a sofa in it, it could work out OK...

The 684's maybe a bit excessive though, maybe you could think about the 685's?ÿ

Ok yes it is worth going 5.1 you will notice it. My room is 3.5 by 5 and i run a 7.1 and yes i can tell the difference to the 5.1. Do it.

room is mainly a tv room , big corner sofa and then tv there aswell

7.1 woah , u must have sound everywhere

i dunno what to buy , cos say i start off with 2 fronts , midrange and then expand later , or go say Q Acoustics 1010i

anything is better than nothing i suppose

plus i guess i need to go to a store , for a demo

well then there is the 2 speakers for the HiFi as well Yes 2 totally separate set ups.
