now..after a while with the hk3390 I find it lacking in the mids section.powerfull amp, but lacks the musicality of my Yamaha. Now who was the member of the forum that got a HK3490? Are you happy with yours?
still happy with my hk3490 so far,got a matching hd980 cdp from richer preston useing it as a transport, not to happy with that though, does not involve you with the music so much, also use a nad 541i, but that seems a little to bass heavy, i thought it might be my speakers, which are mercury f1 customs, i have also just ordered a pair of q2020 and matching stands from superfi, see how they go,luckily i kept my pm7200 amp which i love the nice warm sound off, got he hk3490 as i just fancied a change, i think the cd can be sorted out with a yamaha cds 700 when funds allow and our lass ain't looking, unless some one can suggest otherwise.
yes that is it.it is not envolving with music.I also thought of 2020 but I think I might get a 3 band equalizer mixer to get the mids a bit up.The bass and treble knobs are no good.Cant seem to get the mids to come forward.
gotta agree with you there, the tone controls are s##t, never thought of a mixer as iam from the old school and got my first fidelity music centre in the sixties, and in the seventies equalizers were a no go area must have something to do with earth being flat
