Hifi Or Home Cinema

Im looking to buy ahifi. but idont know what to choose. im going to buy it for my back home (not for UK), i need a big sound. actually wanna here music very loudly.i like it. movies is not very important. can i sucess with a good AV reciever or what should i do.any sugetions.tnxx *dash1*

Depends on how much you want to spend a two channel set up will only really go so loud before it'll distort (designed for high fidelity not volume) the speakers too (small drivers)

If your willing to go 2nd hand eBay etc is your friend.If it's loud you want you'll need to do more research.

Traditionally I was a HIFI guy but then I started using my PC as a source, ripped all my CDs then dumped them into storage. Then I discovered streaming and deleted all my rips.

My main sources are PS4 and a HTPC, neither have analogue out so it makes sense for me to use a AVR instead of a 2 channel amp.

Go and listen to some Klipsch speakers. They sound big, go very loud, and still quite good quality as well. Try some discounted Reference series or something. Practically any amp will drive 'm.

I ditched my AV system this years when I refurbished my apartment and now play film soundtracks through my hifi. Ok I don't get the full surround sound effect or the subsonics but it still sounds very good indeed - for example Saving Private Ryan is very dramatic and the floor shakes.

Thank you verymuch for replying. This is the thing i couldnt understand. i need a big sound with a souround. Im just asking can i use a AVR as a amplifier and can i connect maybe 2 bookshelfs and 3 satalites direct to the avr. Like we connect speakers to the 2 channel amp. Coz lot of ppl saying home theretre almost for movies. But i mostly need to listen music with. 3 or 4 speakers with suround

So can i connect those b&w bookshelfs directly with an avr instead of Amplifire.just think if avr is 5.1.. So i connect 2 bookshelfs for front and 3 satalites for other three. Maybe a subfoofer. So will it be a home cenema finally or a more than that. Tnxx
