Help with Projector distance from screen

Hi there i am just planning on changing my LCD TV to a projector but need to know what is the maximum distance i could have it away from the screen without harming the picture quality? I have a small area of my celing where it would be ideal to put where it would be out of sight but its gonna be about 4.5m away from the screen. I was thinking of a 100" 16:9 screen.

I presume that each projector might be different so the two projectors i am considering are the JVC 550 & Mitsubushi HC7000 any info would be great!

The JVC is a stunning projector, and has a throw distance of up to 5.02m, so you'll be fine. Enjoy!

you will be fine with the throw on both of those projectors, we run them both in our demo room at about that distance. One further thing to consider is your height and also if the position is off axis.

Both the JVC and the HC7000 have good vertical lens shift so it shouldn't be an issue but the horizontal is limited - 5% on the 7000 IIRC.
