I would like to buy a Home Cinema kit which will also give me good sound when playing CD's.

I'd like an "all in one" type system and the speakers need to be nice and small so that I don't upset the wife.

I've been told the Sony DAV-IS is one to maybe go for but does this come with a CD/DVD player and does it cope with music well?

I will be connecting it to Toshiba TV, Sky +, Xbox 360.

Does such a thing exist ?

Oh and I only want to spend around £500 (ish)

Thanks

Well, an all in one system is always going to be a compromise. The Sony system you mention comes with an upscaling DVD player (which will also play CDs). You'll also be able to hook up your Sky+ box to it (via standard RCA phono lead) and Xbox 360 to it (via the optical input). Whether the sound on CDs can be considered "good" or not, is one only you can decide though I'm afraid. I will say, you'll struggle to find any better all in one system for the money as the Sony can now be found for about £350 (here). If necessary, you could then spend the rest of your budget on a separate decent budget CD player to hook into this, which would definitely improve the sound quality.

Thanks for that advice, what about a system that only has front speakers? It looks as though I will have big problems trying to fit rear one's on my wall.

Thanks again
