Right - I've become a regular lurker on this site since the summer as I've been trying to research my options in a new TV.

I'm looking at 32" LCD's, and have been hoping to get something of an all rounder as although I watch a lot of SD material (freeview and DVD's etc) Im looking to get a Bluray player in the next few weeks also.

My budget is £450, and would probably prefer a bit less than that.

I have looked for a long time at the Sony KDL 32P3020, and went as far as to see if Richer Sounds had it, but they dont (the guy said it looks like their not doing it anymore) , and in fact I cant find it anywhere at a sensible price apart from Tesco Direct (£429). The trouble is I was hoping to get myself at least a 3 year guarentee for the price, which isnt possible anywhere apart from Richer Sounds.

There are a bunch of 32" models in the £350 range which havent been reviewed here as far as I can see, yet the reviews of some of the more budget TV's I've been reading often say "better available at this price" even for 4 star reviews.

Can anyone suggest a few models which are great value, but are also more widely available? - Im really struggling to find places which have some of the sets recommended as the best budget buys here!

Am I being unrealistic, and should I just bite the bullet and settle for the 32P3020 from Tesco with the one year guarentee?

I think I've got a headache! Thanks if anyone has any advice!

See if you can get a look at Samsung's LE32A456. We haven't tested it yet, but the rest of the range has impressed us (its 26in brother won an Award, for example). A quick Google search throws up plenty of deals on it @£350.

The Sony KDL32P3020 was a great budget set in its time, but this year's models should surpass it - it's just a shame so many manufacturers are concentrating on their higher-end, Full HD offerings at even these smaller screen sizes so we have less budget models to recommend you at the moment....

Many thanks for the advice!

Yeah - its definately a shame that the budget end of things is getting overlooked - particularly if, like me, you're on a budget, but want to get the best you can for your money.

I've just had a look into the LE32A56, including your test on the 26in version, and the reviews seem very positive on the whole, so its definately come into play as a likely alternative. On another site I read that the LE32A56, and the LE32A57 are exactly the same TV internally, their just cosmetically different - is this correct?

Both John Lewis and Richer Sounds stock the 57 model, and Im going shopping shortly today, so I'll play them off against each other and see who comes up with the better price.

Has anyone got any experience with the Sony 32V4000 or any others in that range? As this is another model which has caught my eye.

Cheers!
