Help choosing Amp and CD

Hi I visited the superfi in manchester today and i'm going back tomorrow to listen to some different combinations, i'm about 90% sure i want to get the b&w 685's but i was wondering if anyone can help me when looking what to partner it with, also i only have about 350 for amp and Cd players combined.

 

so far ive been recommended:- NAD (various models but 315 and 325) and also the corresponding CD players

Rotel RA-04 as the companies are linked

Marantz amps have also been said to match

 

So can anyone offer their own experiences with any of these combinations, i know its all down to me what sounds best but id like some pointers so i test them more intensely tomorrow evening when i visit.

I would try the Rotel with it and then whatever is left, a Nad cd player maybe?

OK so i bought the 685's today and now i'm looking for the CD/AMP combo to go with them, i've found a deal on the 325 and 525 amp and CD player which comes with a van damme interconnect all for 430 quid, but the model i was listening to the speakers on is the newer 326, and i was wondering if anyone knew any big differences? they are both 50w per channel, i've also seen the NAD C355 for 350 down from 500, and i really want to get an NAD amp as i tried it out on Rotel and martantz and by farÿpreferredÿthe NAD amp

The C325BEE is a fantastic amplifier. Just running my new one in now and it sounds fantastic even cold out of the box. I've had one before and crazy upgraditis (something which has plagued me these past 2 years) made me sell it, which I've always regretted, hence my decision to go back to one. Its every bit as good as I remembered. Looking at the specs I don't think the difference between the C325BEE and the new C326BEE would be that huge.

I'm not surprised you preferred the NAD amp over the others.

i saw they were the same power, i think im gonna get the 325 amp and 525 cd combo for 429.99 =] thanks for the advice, i was thinking about the 355BEE but its 350 on its own without a CD player...

ok, so ive changed my mind again, as i tried the speakers i bought today on an NAD 326 i'm thinking of setting one of them as ive just found it at 260 quid and so now i need aÿrecommendationÿfor a CD player that partners well with this Amp.

try marantz PM6002 and CD6002. Im sure you will love this toys

Ok i've ordered the NAD326 amp now any suggestions for a nice CD to go with it?
