Hi, I'm looking at buying a pair of headphones. Does anyone know which would make a better purchase, The Sennheiser HD595s or the Goldring NS1000s. I dont particualy need the noise isolation on the NS1000s as I will be using them mostly indoors.

If you don't need the noise-canceling, the Sennheiser will be better. You could also consider AKG K701s for a transparent, detailed sound. Maybe s/h. If you keep considering the Goldrings, make sure to look out for deals. Those could be picked up for £50 for a short time, but I've seen them around £100 a lot.

I have a pair of the sennheiser 595 and they are very good indeed. Excellent with my CA840A v2 amp.

I have used cheaper noise cancelling hphones and found them to be far too much of a compromise sound quality wise.
