Hi,
I have Acer Aspire 6930G with a S/PDIF output via the headphone port. It states in the manual its OPTICAL (which I presume would be a toslink) to my Yahama Amp? - the lead with red light.
I have a toslink Optical lead which fits in the digital toslink in the amp but not in the laptop?
Do I have the wrong lead, or do I need an adapter? If an adapter is needed would it be the 3.5mm jack to toslink? If so, will I loose the digital sound?
Sorry about all the questions.
P.S. Sorry forgot to say, I am only wanting to use the SPDIF output as the amp I have - Yamaha RX3620RDS doesn't support HDMI - so any movies that i'll watch via the laptop BLURAY player will be connected to the TV via HDMI and the output of sound via SPDIF to the amp Hope this all makes sense.
Steve.
