Hi,
I have Acer Aspire 6930G with a S/PDIF output via the headphone port. It states in the manual its OPTICAL (which I presume would be a toslink) to my Yahama Amp? - the lead with red light.
I have a toslink Optical lead which fits in the digital toslink in the amp but not in the laptop?
Do I have the wrong lead, or do I need an adapter? If an adapter is needed would it be the 3.5mm jack to toslink? If so, will I loose the digital sound?
Sorry about all the questions.
P.S. Sorry forgot to say, I am only wanting to use the SPDIF output as the amp I have - Yamaha RX3620RDS doesn't support HDMI - so any movies that i'll watch via the laptop BLURAY player will be connected to the TV via HDMI and the output of sound via SPDIF to the amp 🙂 Hope this all makes sense.
Steve.
