HDMI Inputs on Receiver Amp

Hi,

I am looking to upgrade my Amp in the near future, and I have a niggling question. If I am using a HDMI feed (Blu-ray, Sky HD etc.) into a HDMI input in the Amp and then from the Amp to the TV, do I then change between channels on the Amp or Still on the TV i.e. do the all run through 1 HDMI channel on the TV? Also, will there be any picture quality lost in this transition?
