I only went and bought the standard issue today and not the ultimate issue. Does the ultimate issue have a top (5 out of 5 stars) 40 - 42in LCD or plasma in it for around £1,000

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Mr Consulting Editor for your precise and concise answer!

I suppose I'll have to go out and spend some more money on the Ultimate Edition! Or maybe just sit in WH Smith and take out the pages that have the TV reviews on them!

:-D

Thanking You!

Would feel terribly guilty if you were banged up for theft and/or criminal damage, so...

Panasonic TH-42PX80 £670

Toshiba 42XV505D £775

Panasonic TH-42PZ80 £875

Sony KDL-40W4000, but that's £1200

Hehe I've actually been looking at the Sony KDL-40W4000 on the internet today as that was in the issue I bought. Its out there for £1000 but i'm just trying to get a 5 year free warranty which may sway the buy for me.

Not a fan of the Panasonics looks really but if they fit the purpose then I may be gently persuaded

I need a TV that will handle dark yet colourful DVD's like Blade and also moving images like football.

Which would you suggest for that?

Thanks

ALSO, LCD OR PLASMA?

Either would be excellent, but clearly we think the Sony is worth the extra or it wouldn't get the full five stars in the context of the Panasonics being available.

I'd go Sony.

been looking at the sony too, cant decide between that and the pana pz85 one up from the 80, which one would be better for both sd and hd.

try cheapelectricals.com, theyve got the sony for 1000 with a five year warranty.
From the reviews I've seen, the Panasonic PZ80/PZ85 still has better blacks than the Sony and better moving images. It's a lot closer than it used to be, so check them both out in the shops.

If it's 37-40in you're after - and you're moneyed - the Sony is a superb option. If you fancy a Full HD set that's a little larger, and not so premium in its relative pricing, the 42in Panasonics head the pack at the moment.

I've heard good things from people in the AV industry about the latest JVC LCD 42's. Any truth in this? And is there any JVC reviews in the latest issue?

Thanks.

What's the best 46 inch ? I was thinking about a Panasonic 46PZ81 however Freesat HD recorders will make the on-board tuner fairly pointless so it's back to comparing specs and reviews.

Help !
It's a pity you can't take your dvd player and connections with you. I find that the screens never look good in the shops. However, I have the 2 year old 40W2000 and it's superb!!

Well as you were considering the Z81, the Z85 is very similar spec. without the freesat tuner.
