Not too badly priced either and hopefully means their 4K TVs might be cheaper this year.

That looks gorgeous. My mate just bought the 905 and is more than happy with it, i feel Sony have really upped their game this last couple of years.

Not go bigger Gel??

Just been reading a review on aother site and it is not good news, bad backlight bleed and poor black levels plagued their review sample.

Tobias, see if you can get the full review of the 65-inch from this site

http://www.digitalversus.com/tv-television/sony-bravia-kdl-65w955-p19446/test.html#overview (how's your French?).

They don't seem to be complete fans of the 65-inch.

That is one bad review of the Sony! Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

Looks like the Samsung UE65F8000 has just jumped back to the top of the list!

They don't like 55 inch one as well.

Tobias, are you looking specifically for a 65" TV? If so, the Samsung UE65F6400 might fit the bill? You can get reviews of it online from google. Only £1,900 from our-not-so-favourite shop, Currys/PC World. If a 60" TV will do they also have 60" Samsung and LG plasmas for under a grand! Currys/PC World tend to have slightly different stock from John Lewis, but no automatic 5-year guarantee.

If you're a Samsung fan, you can still buy a 64F8500, if you look carefully enough. Samsung is re-releasing the F8500 in 2014, rather than introducing a new high end plasma model. And that's good news, because it's a great TV (and produces a better picture than the F8000).

There's the 65" VT65, too, Tobias, unless you're sold on an LED model. (I'm assuming 4K resolution isn't a prerequisite, since you're considering a 65" F8000.)

The 4K sets will be very, very competitive on price this year. Premium 1080p territory going by last year’s KDL-55W905 RRP. Unfortunately we won’t see them through until August.

That is good news, shame about the delay though. I have to admit I did look them up on your website. It is a good site.

And unfortunately What HiFi themselves are not enraptured with the set either - they like it, but they don't love it, see here http://www.whathifi.com/review/kdl-55w955b .

So that's three out of three reviews complaining about the black levels of this flagship TV. It reminds me of the reviews of my very own dear but much-maligned LG 60PZ950T in my kitchen, decidedly iffy black levels. But I don't think that I, or Steve Withers when he calibrated mine, had to work as hard as the Sony's reviewers have had to in order to get the best performance from my set.
