I saw a survey recently which asked famous musicians what their guilty pleasures were. Can't remember exactly who, but several "heavy rock" types were naming people like Abba and Kylie as stuff they listen to but wouldn't normally admit to.

So in that vein, what are your video & audio guilty pleasures, let's say film, CD and TV shows.
I'll start the ball rolling by owning up to liking the low budget fick "BarbWire" with Pammy, on DVD.
It's actually a semi-cult film nowadays.
Also listening to Led Zeppelin's classic 2nd album in 5.1 surround with the volume wound up to eleven is sweet, although my teenage kids just stare at me in disbelief.
Finally, it's a dead heat between Married with Children and Two and a Half Men as my TV picks.

I shall now retreat into a dark corner and hope some other brave souls join in the thread to confess their dark secrets . . . .
Have a good Easter everyone!

You should be proud of knowing about and having watched "Married with Children". It was a brilliant comedy and "The Simpsons" was based on it.

Aha! So it's not just me who likes this stuff.
I already feel that 23 stones has been lifted off my chest

I have a strange feeling that there's going to be an awful lot of confessions in this thread.
C'mon, you know you want to!

TV - Friends. Got the boxed set and watched every episode with the wife over a few weeks, getting in 4 or 5 episodes a day. I laughed out loud more times than to many an alleged comedy.

Films - didn't realise how low the regard is for the Alien Vs Predator films until I recommended such elsewhere. I love em.

Music - Pet Shop Boys.

Yikes! I've actually got the box set too and haven't seen a single episode yet, apart from catching the odd few minutes when it's on TV. So something to look forward to then?
What I am looking forward to is the possibility of the WHF team to confess to their AV sins.
One can only guess what their tortured minds feast on behind closed doors with all that gear on tap.
I bet one of them has to be a closet Disney fanatic, or worse! - anyone care to take a guess?

(Edit note to self : insert reverse psychological tagline below to tempt the WHF team to comment here)

Maybe we'll never know

Exactly the one that came to mind... I remember the farce when my mate originally wanted to rent this. He was "curious as I've heard so much about it".

I saw that in the cinema when it came out, didn't remember it being too bad until several years later a mate of mine commented that he'd never seen it, I remarked it's basically 2 hours of naked women, so he rented it out. Didn't get beyond about 45 minutes before he turned it off saying "I don't care how many naked women are in it, I can't watch any more of that!".

He was right, "watchable" is the last word I'd use for it. So bad it's not even funny, so bad it's just bad.

...And here it is...

I'm not sure i have the decency to feel guilty aboout any of my pleasures. I did discover an album called guilt(y? I forget) By Association on which oh so credible indie artists cover 80s classics. Particulary like Mark Mulcahy's version of From This Moment. And The Moony Suzuki's take on Just Like Jesse James.

Now, there are two Mulcahy versions of from this moment. One starts with 30secs or so of whiny vocals by way of an intro, the other jsut goes in to it with him singing properly. The version on the album is the whiney one. If anyone knows how one might find the other one (which i have been able to stream via his myspoace and spotify but not buy),, id be most grateful.*

i do, i must admit, have a folder reserved for music many would consider a bit dairy, such as meatloaf, but it isnt very full yet (plans are afoot), and i dont feel at all guilty about it.

*they are definitely not the same version with the beginning chopped off.

Oh good grief, I just spotted the almost identical request in the only thread that's on this board that I don't read. Sorry for the duplication Andrew, but at least I got BarbWire off my chest (I wish!). Which brings me to my latest confession : I don't always read all the posts in all the forums here but I will from now on.
I will now get stuck into an Easter egg and contemplate the errors of my ways.

I love Riverdance... although not so much a guilty pleasure but something i dont talk about to folk mmmm not sure why really??

I could watch it all day long.

Also like Barry Manilow (didnt have a choice as my mother used to play his songs all day long when i was a young teen) so he grew on me, mind you hes a fantastic song writer.

I have actually seen Sean Rowley's Guilty Pleasures on 3 occasions. Twice at The Big Chill, and once at the Islington Academy. Denise van Outen was also at the latter gig.

Film - Love Actually, everytime I watch it I seem to find something else funny in it, there seems to be so many stories running through it. Music - Some of Il Divo's stuff. My wife plays it constantly then when I'm by myself I find myself sometimes putting it on.TV - Anything with David Attenborough in it.

Just ordered Lilly Allen's Alright, Stil and It's not me it's you.

It's not the kind of thing i usually listen to but i like the stuff i've heard, and as the g/f pointed out: 'You've liked far worse'

Hope the albums hold up to the singles.

I'm afraid its a guilty pleasure because everyone else in the house moans when I put him on.BTW I agree with you, the man is a national treasure, the best in the world at what he does.
