Goodbye Rotel, hello Linn x2

Over the past two weeks I have been dabling with a certain on line auction site. Sold a couple of ZP100's and bought a LP12, a LK100 and a LK85 power amp. I have 'bi amped' the 100 and 85, these have replaced my trusty RB1070 that I have had for 8 years. The SQ difference is huge so much so all that I have done all afternoon/evening is play track after track with a daft grin on my face *biggrin*.

Next up for an upgrade is my RC1070 and MA BR5's. So far I have my eye on a Linn Kairn pre, and am looking at a pair of KEF R700's/MA PL100/EB5's (even with the wait etc.) ATC or PMC stand mounts. Room size is 12' x 14'. I'll probably will look at going 'Aktiv' with the amps in the future.

What recommendations would you guys give?

I used to have a Linn Kairn/LK100, so that's where I'd look.

The R700s are the best speakers that I've heard around £2k.....whether you also do, is another matter.

There are a few Kairns going at the mo and am currently watching 4. The KEF R range seem to be fairly popular and get good reviews, they are definately on my list to audition. My BR5s have finally come to life which makes me think that the PL100s are worth a look as well.
