Hi, I am finally getting this delivered and installed on Thursday this week. The lady over the phone explained to me that because I live in a block of flats, I will not be able to record one channel & watch another? surely that does not seem right...is it?

Depends whether you have your own two feeds from the LNB on the dish, or are on a communal feed. If the former, it'll be fine; if the latter, not.

damn!- communal feed :-( oh well...still got my trusted DVD recorder to record other channels. Thanks Andrew 🙂

How old is the building/communal system?

If it's relatively recent (less than 4-5 years), then the developer may have had the foresight to include twin sat feeds to each flat.In which case you should have a quadruplex ( 2 sat ,1 TV aerial, and 1 FM/DAB aerial port) wall plate/point fitted , like below....

If so you will be able to use the Full Sky+ facilities. If they only allowed single sat feeds then you'll have a triplexed (1 sat,1 TV aerial and 1 FM/DAB aerial port) wall plate/point,like below...

In which case, you'll be limited to only being able to record what you watch!
