Freeview/Freesat with catch-up facility?

My mother is looking at getting a Freeview/Freesat box. She already has Sky, but is cancelling her subscription. Does Freeview or Freesat come with the catch-up facility that a Sky box has, or is her best bet to get a box with a HD facility she could record her programmes on? Thanks for any advice.

I assume by catch-up facility,you mean Sky anytime? But no Freeview or Freesat don't have the same facility, so yes a pvr would be required so she can record her programmes.
