Hello, I'm a newbie to the forum. Basically, I lost my mojo a few years back, kids and mortgage took over so haven't really used my system properly, nor upgraded it! But, I'm back! I think the weak link is mainly the integrated amp I'm using as a pre, but would value your opinions as to how to most effectively overhaul or upgrade cost efficiently. System is currently (don't laugh!)... Audiolab 8000A (used as pre) Arcam Delta 270 CD Meridian 556 Power Chord interconnects QED Micro speaker cable, bi-wired, obviuosly Kef Studio Reference 2.2's Is there a glaring "fail", should I start again, what could be an easy change? Budget is about £1k, so thought Roksan Caspian Pre? Thanks very much in advance for your ideas.

Sorry, didn't realise formatting would be lost...

Set up at the moment is.. Audiolab 8000A (used as pre) - Arcam Delta 270 CD -Meridian 556 Power Amp - Chord interconnects - QED Micro speaker cable, and bi-wired Kef Studio Reference 2.2's

Thanks

a second hand meridian pre amp would be a certain match, not sure how often the one you want crops up on the bay tho

So 8000A is definitely the weak link?

Is meridian pre AND power a laid back sound or sharper, I don't like shrill.
