Anyone never use one? I'm looking for a cheap DAC to use from my phone/laptop. I can score one for $60... $100 is the most I'd like to spend at the moment.

There's not a lot of information about this unit outside of the few reviews on Amazon. So I actually bought the thing, and I'm glad I did. I've been playing with it for a bit now. Here's how I tested it so far. Three sets of headphones from Three different sources:
Headphones
The DS1 definitely improved the sound over plugging in directly. Mostly in the high end (symbols, high hats, strings, etc.) I did notice more dynamics and liveliness in other frequencies. (Drum hits sounded richer, the attack of the bass in some Tool and Moonspell songs, etc. )
When it comes to build quality, I'd say this is fairly solid. It's got a metal housing. The USB-C cable snuggly fits in ports, and it even has a USB-A adaptor. It gets a little warm when listening, but not too much (body temp'ish.) It supports the two standard headphone jacks, and has a volume control.
At some point, I'd like to get myself some headphones that have a higher impedance (been looking at the Bayerdynamic DT770's at 80Ω or 250Ω .) That's not happening anytime soon... but when it does, I'll update.

I recently purchased one on Amazon for $79 -30%. They are currently offering a $20 discount so roughly $60. Such a deal. I am now listening to a pair of Ikko OH-10's with a 4.4mm balanced connection. Actually brought a tear to my eyes! 24/192 Eagles "Them Shoes" from Amazon Music HD sounds truly pristine. LOUD output on IEMs so use caution. Crystal clear airy highs with great detail. The mids are clear and defined. The biggest improvement here is in the bass and sub bass regions with deep resonance and very quick mid bass response. The OH-10 Obsidians really have incredible low end and the DS-1 really brings these frequencies to life . Fosi did a great job on this DAC, a great deal at twice the price.
