Can one be retro-fitted and does it need to be done by a hi-fi dealer, or is it more cost effective to buy a Debut III USB SB for £280?

depends on which tt i think

found one site that says (regarding the speed box mkII:

*Only models with mains socket 16V/AC power supply can be fitted **The Project Debut & Debut Phono SB, 1.2 Comfort and RPM 6 SB can not be used with the Speed Box. ***78RPM is not available for the Project RPM 9

edit: manual here makes it seem very simple

Unless it's one of the excluded models in the list above, you'll be fine -- the TT input should be 16v.

Nice one, that manual suggests that it's so easy my 12 year old son would be able to do it.

well worth it, i use a mk2 speed box with my expression mk1.

better sound stage, depth, and i dont have to keep moving the belt to play 12" 45,s.

easy to set up and use, a steal at £40...

Great recommendation. Is it still available for £40 and if so, where?

saying that the improvement is worth paying the going rate.
