First ever Hi-Fi setup.

Hi, so I've been looking at buying a turntable, amp and speakers for a while now and was wondering of I could have some input on the setup I'm looking at:

Audiolab 8000a early 80's model

Pro-ject elemental II

Mission MX 3 speakers.

Everything apart from the amp will be bought brand new. I was concerned whether mixing the older amp with newer turntables and speakers would be a problem or not.

Hi Charles,

No problem in mixing old with new - in fact some of the best sounds around can come from the older kit. The 8000 amps were and still are highly regarded in what they can do, to be honest.

Have you purchased the MX3's yet?

Not yet as I currently don't have the room (uni accomidation) so I will probably buy them in July/August.
