I recently purchased a Fatman ivalve doc. The on-line retailer advertised the newer 2x25W model, but when it came the box (and instructions) say that it's the 2x13W model.

The retailer claims that I have in fact ben supplied with the newer 2x25W model, and that packaging is, in fact incorrect.

IS this the case ? And if so how can I tell that the model I have supplied is, in fact the 2x25W model as there is nothing on the item to distingish between the two models ?

sound like a load of rubbish to me - surely supplying incorrect instructions/packaging is illegal - H&S etc - also sure a manufacturer wouldn't do it as they would get loads of returns - i'd be sending it back

email fatman your seriel number and ask them to confirm which model it is

Cheers. Yes I agree, the manufacturer would be leaving themselves open to a lot of flack, so I would be suprised if this was the case.

I bought the unit from Audio Affair. This is first foray back into hi(or low) fi for a number of years, so didn't check them out. Some negative comments about them in some threads on the forum. I did point out to AA that they were probably contravening the Trade Desriptions Act (and possibly Fatman also if they have in fact supplied the 25W unit but the packaging/instructions say 13W).

I have emailed fatman detaining the issue, but forgot the item would have a serial number, so have emailed them again with the serial number.

All Fatman amps are rated at 25w and not 13W

Thanks for the info

So basically you're saying Fatman are themselves contravening the trade desritpions act ! (albeit supplying a 'superior' product to what their packaging says !).

I hope this is the case - but it leaves them open to possible prosecutuon from Trading Standards does it not ?
