Did anyone else watch this Sunday's F1 Grand Prix on a 37 inch Panny PX80. (or any other half decent television)? If so, can you confrim that the ITV picture quality was dreadfull and it wasn't just my TV.

Well I watched it on my 42" Panny PZ85 and it does seem that itv has one of the worst pictures of all the sky channels. It was certainly no worse than anything else I have watched on itv. Thank god it's going back to the bbc, although I hope the itv team will switch as well.

I have a 37" PX80 and watching the Liverpool v Chelsea game on ITV1 last week was the worst picture quality I have ever seen.

Nothing to do with the tv, just ITV`s very poor picture quality.

Surely not - keep Martin Brundle, for sure, but ditch the Lewis Hamilton Appreciation Society.

I second that....

...and also second the comments on ITV picture quality. My Dad came round when the GP was on, and commented that the picture looked more like a videogame! (and not having seen any XBox/PS3 games, he didn't mean that as a compliment).

The Bahrain Grand Prix was the first thing I watched on my new Panny, and I thought the picture quality then was pretty good - although on that occasion I watched via freeview and not Sky Plus. Glad to know its not my telly going on the blink.

Didn't see the Barcelona one as I watched it at a friend's, but the last few I've seen haven't been too bad. My guess is I've just got used to it since I've had the TV for a couple of years now!!

Oh, and for goodness sakes, keep Brundle. I'm also getting attached to James Allen and his mistakes - reminds me of Murray

Shame on you - Murray was knowledgable but prone to letting his mouth out-accelerate his brain in the heat of the moment, while Allen is just Lewis Hamilton incompetent and Lewis Hamilton only has one Lewis Hamilton interest throughout an entire Lewis Hamilton race.

I guess you're very much in the hands of the host broadcaster on this one, huh?

I guess ITV's determination to prostrate itself at the altar of all things Hamilton was confirmed when their entire coverage of the post race drivers conference was devoted to the driver who didn't win.

Yeh Brundle is the best of the lot , and I can understand what you mean about James I want Lewis's love child Allen. It is funny to listen to Brundle correcting him though.

The thing with Hamilton is that he's british, and at the moment is our best chance of winning the title. Well at least until Ross Brawn whips the Honda into shape. I think Button will go well with his smooth driving style,he'll be able to look after his tyres alot better than most. Very under rated.

Lewis doesn't seem to have his head stuck up his own a*se unlike some drivers I can think of...... Ahhhrrrmmmm Alonso. He seems down to earth and loves driving the wheels off his car. I bet he would drive it for free if he had to. I remember an interview he did where he said that at one of the races he turned off the traction control as he came out of the pits, and had it sideways coming onto the pit lane. Just for the fun of it. Good man in my book. And I hope he wins the title ths year, it's been far to long since a Brit has won. Lewis must be one of the most naturally gifted drivers out there.

Mind you with BMW making the most progress with their cars I don't think it will be to long until we see a BMW win the title. It would be great to see a Ferrari,Mercedes,BMW split for the title at the last race.

I don't think you would have noticed the picture flaws so much if there had actually been any motor racing during the Spanish Grand Prix.jules.

I can't watch F1 on ITV, the PQ is so awful.

I used to watch it on the German channels on 19east, but now I have discovered the HD lite feed on 1west for the cinemas. While not being the best HD feed I have ever seen, it is far better quality than anything else out there and blows ITV away.

On the satellite forums, people recon that the PQ is a bit better than ITV London, but still nowhere near as good as ITV on freeview and that still isn't as good as the German channels.

IMHO the only way to get a decent picture on ITV is to watch it on analogue. but then that does defeat the point now that almost everything is in widescreen.
