ok so i not long since upgraded my home cinema setup and the reciever i bought was a sony 3500es but cant help but think i should have gone for the denon 1910. I still have a few days left to exchange so would it be worth while exchanging or is the Sony a better reciever???

I would have thought that the 2400es was closer to the Denon. I have the 3400es and when I demo'd it was better than the older Denon 2809! I would be surprised if the newer Sony has got worse and the 1910 had suddenly jumped up a couple of levels.

I use the reciever for my cd playback and wasnt't very happy with sound. It seemed to be quite bright and lack bass but this morning i connected the DacMagic back up to it and re-positioned the speakers and it's seems to be sounding alot better. From what i hear the denon's have a warmer sound to them so was thinking the denon would have got rid of the brightness????

This is a downgrade.

The 'Big Question' in latest What Hi-Fi issue may be of some help. I was a participant, & felt the Denon 1910 was better than a much more expensive Sony receiver for music. It's my personal opinion though.
