Elac and Primare is a great combo. I use Primare A32 with Elac FS 507 VX-JET (Zodiac Gold DAC as pre-amp). Yamaha A-S3000 should do nicely as well.

Yes, I'd agree with that. The old Primare amps sound great with ribbons. I would not go with the newer Class D Primare thought with that tweeter (personal preference).

Alex, just about any of the amps in your list will do great. Best way to find out is to audition them all.

I actually haven't heard any Primare Class D amp but Elac still use them when they demo their speakers. A32 is supposedly different than the other Class AB Primare. Very transparent highs (which might differ from the others) and deep bass. I think it's wonderful with Elac's AMT-tweeter and Primare's only class AB still in production.

For fun I tested a Rotel RB-1582 MKII which imo didn't work with Elac, even though it is AB. I had heard some say Rotel was bright but I still expected it to have similarities with A32. It was too bright though and not the same grip in the bass. Maybe older Rotel amps are more suitable? Also had som strange and permanent "wide stereo" or "matrix" sound that you can turn on or off in a boombox or other compact stereo that has it. Nothing you ever expect to find in an amp for proper setups.

Oh, I didn't realise they still had one AB amp still made. That's great news indeed. The way you describe it is just as I would describe A30.1 I used to own. Adding superb imaging, big soundstage and great timbre of instruments and you get Primare sound.
