Recently won an old but decent pair of Sony ss-176e floorstanders to match with my Cambridge 640A, of which I've heard many good things, for 21 quid. Sounds like a good deal if you ask me, although I'm yet to receive them

Some of these speakers are badged as 'Brooklands edition', anyone got any idea why? Such a set sold for £56 around the same time as I won my auction, and it seems unlikely that I have somehow unearthed a total steal 😀

They could of been a limited edition. Most companies love to use famous names to exploit the limited version - Brooklands is famous for its banked motor racing track and its history with aviation.

Thanks for the tip. Whatever the case, they sound pretty phenomenal for £21. Would have probably happily paid 4 times that.
