Can anyone help me please? I'm experiencing poor sound quality when watching dvds. The background music is ok but sound is muffled when people are speaking.

System I am using is :TOSHIBA 32z44 (TV) and Technika DVD1031 (dvd player). Just using regular scart cables between the two.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

where you getting your films from blockbuster or the chinese bloke on the street corner 'dvd' ??

and if the music in the background is ok but the voices muffled, I can only imagine what type of film you are watching ??

the soundtrack cant be good from one source and bad from another at the same time ?

They are proper DVDs.

If anyone else has any constructive advice, would be greatly appreciated.

Which Dvds is this happening with?

Yes, it's always been like this. It's almost like the bass of people's voices muffles clarity.

Do you have a stereo? If so connect the stereo out pair on the DVD player to the Aux in on the stereo, and place a speaker either side of the tv, and then turn the tv sound off and see if that does the trick.
