DVD editing software?

Hi

I want to take some programs off my PVR and VCR and edit them on the laptop before I burn them to a DVD. What software and connection lead would you recommend to an absolute beginner please?

That should do the trick. I have the more basic software, I use the Dazzle to capture and record a live feed from a bird-box camera. I've recommended the Platinum version as I find the standard software a bit too basic. You could do the same and save the videos for editing with other software (eg Roxio as suggested).

I use Wondershare and DVDFab for editing video also, mainly from DVD sources. Both are fairly cheap to download (despite £/$ rate currently).
