I need some advice about which if any of the following Sony speaker systems will allow Dolby True HD, DTS-HD, Dolby Digital Plus.

HTSS 1300

HTSF2000 or 2300

or the

HT-IS 100.

Does it even matter as long as i get a blu ray player that can decode Dolby True HD etc itself?

Thanks.

Tech Specs:

HTSS 1300 - http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-cinema-surround-kit/ht-ss1300#pageType=TechnicalSpecs

HTSF 2000 - http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-cinema-surround-kit/ht-sf2000#pageType=TechnicalSpecs

HT-IS 100 - http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hcs-cinema-surround-kit/ht-is100#pageType=TechnicalSpecs

For all the above, from what I can see:

No to all 3 mentioned formats, but they does support PCM which I understand is comparable to TrueHD in quality. So provided your player outputs PCM as well you can enjoy HD sound.

Thank you for your advice. All of these different formats are confusing.

Basically, think of the Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio formats as a form of lossless compression. When uncompressed (or decoded), they are in a format known as PCM - some discs contain the uncompressed PCM soundtrack which negates the need for this decoding process. So if you have a player which can decode the formats to PCM and an amp which can accept this PCM signal over HDMI, you will be getting the HD audio, no matter what form it is in.

I was looking at this same situation last month and decided to go for the Sony HT-IS100 paired with a Sony BDP S550 player. The blu-ray player is doing the decoding of DTS HD master and then passing it via PCM to the amp. If you are looking for more info I responded to a thread on the HT-IS100 last week with some pictures and a review:-

Thanks for explaining that, it makes sense now. Do you know if either of the Panasonic blu ray players can do it?

Yes, if you check the specification of the 35 and 55 models they do the decoding. I'd have a look at the Sony S550 as an alternative - not the Sony S350 as it doesn't do the decoding.
