i am getting a little picky and my br5's are not what im after really. So after i buy a dacmagic and cans. The next project is to move my eltax sub to around 2m behind my sofa my rears are 3.5m behind me and the fronts/centre are 3.12m in front so i think that will work well. Then is to move my br5's to the wide front br1's to the back and lose the tdls. For hifi i am thinking of buying some rs1's s/hand for around £200 in july/august which i think will give me more control and alot more of warmer social listen. Then by around october/november add a s/hand £250 approx rel or something to my arcam amp. so when the mrs listens to her r&b etc she can have the depth of the br5's. Is this a ok plan for the year.

Would like to know what peoples thoughts who have simliar problems or have gone down the small speakers/sub combi

i have a large lounge with an open plan kitchen so it does take filling.

I use standmounts and a sub and think it sounds great.

I've never been a fan of floorstanders as in my (albeit fairly limited) experience, they are too boomy. I bought my 602 S3s back in '02 as they are a large standmount and thought they would offer me the best of both worlds. To a degree, this is true, but when I bought my MT-30s for A/V use and decided one day to connect the PV1 up to the Hi-Fi, it was a revelation.

My plan this year is to replace the 602s with a smaller, higher quality standmount, as I no longer require the driver size and cabinet dimensions to get the bass I'm after. All thanks to the sub.
