Do you need a PC to play NAS through DAC amp

Like most people store iTunes on PC in Apple Lossless. If I were to have a NAS device like the Buffalo this has an ethernet link apparently which can be accessed even if the PC is switched off

So question is if you have a good amp - lets say for example the new Cyrus with built in DAC- is that in theory enough to be able to access that NAS disk with iTunes music on ?

I have no idea about the new Cyrus range but I very much doubt they'll have an ethernet connection. You'll need something between your NAS and DAC ÿ/ ÿDAC/ampÿto stream the music and feed it to the DAC, For instance a Squeezebox.
