I have partnered up my new 7.2 Vibe monolith speaker system with a Pioneer VSX-LX53 multi-channel receiver. Do I need a pre-amp as well? Thanks.

No the Pioneer's an integrated amp, it has the pre-amp built in.

You could get a seperate pre-amp if you wanted, but I don't know what you'd achieve by that.

Many thanks for that. The next stage is to select a projector. The JVC 3D range are impressive (if expensive).

Just been looking up details of the JVC DLA-X7 3D projector. Looks good, but the picture format is said to be 16:9 whereas my screen is 4:3. Not sure what the answer to that would be, other than to buy another screen, which I don't want to do because I prefer 4:3. Anyone else come across this problem?

Nobody does 4:3 any more. I don't know why you wouldn't want to view your films in widescreen.

Guess I'm behind the times. Of course I could use the 4:3 screen for 16:9 images by decommissioning the lower 25% of the 4:3 screen. Hmmm something to ponder on. Thanks for your response.
