Do i need a DAC

I currently have my Mac Mini connected to my LX82 via an monster optical cable using iTunes as the source of music, the sound in stereo is no bad on the lossless files but I am using home sharing files from my iMac, are they the same as the CD being ripped directly to the Mac Mini and would the sound improve dramatically if I bought an Arcam rDac.

Any thoughts

You need food, water and shelter, the rest is just fluff

However, in my experience adding a DAC greatly enhanced the sound going to my amp

Edit:- Others have found my failure to spot that you already have a DAC built-in to your amp
