Do faster response times on a LCD TV mean a better picture?

But it's just one factor - poor-quality broadcasts can also be to blame.

Oh, and the best plasmas have much faster response time than LCDs.

So would you really recommend a plasma as a gaming tv?? Whens the new 50inch Pioneer out?? I cant seem to find anywhere online thats even got a release date on it let alone a price..

Absolutely - better at motion, contrast and blacks, which is ideal for a wide range of gaming.

As this story we posted 8 days ago states, the new Pioneer plasmas are out in June.

I'd expect the 50in to come in at around £2500.

WHAO this month??? No point going for the 508D then? I mean the price is still at £3000 so the new one will be cheaper?

It's possible - it's what happenned with the 2008 Panasonic plasmas, after all.

But i've seen no official pricing so far - just a few speculative retail estimates - so let's see when they get in shops. Ditto with whether they're better than the current sets.

Maybe not better but surely they cant go down hill right??

It wouldn 't be the first time a manufacturer replaced a good model with something not quite so good.
