If my turntable has a built in preamp will I experience problems plugging it into a phono stage of an amp?

Plug it into the line level or disable the tt preamp. Compare the two.

Robin is correct. The inbuilt preamp will, in my experience, be inferior to the phono stage in the amp itself. However try both and see which you prefer assuming you can bypass the phono preamp on the turntable.
