Difference between hifi amp/pre amp/power amp

What are the purposes of them?

Do you need 1 of them, 2 of them, all of them?

I haven't got a clue, I really like the sound of the new EB Acoustics EB 2s, what set up of amps would be adequate to run them?

A hi-fi amp, or integrated amplifier, combines the preamp, which does the source selection/volume control, and the power amp, which provides the 'grunt' to drive the speakers.

An integrated amp would be more than sufficient to drive the EB2s.
