Denon TU-260 MkII, dim display, design flaw ?, is there a fix for this ?

Hi everyone,

I bought one of these Denon TU-260 MkII tuners on ebay, when it arrived I found that the display was extremely dim,

I bought this after reading so many raving reviews of it and only afterwards found a few people who said that the display dims with age, looks like a design or wear flaw, this is going back to the seller unless I can get it working myself.

Has anyone else experienced this, has anyone else got a fix for this, I'm able to swap out capacitors/diodes whatever to fix this.

Just checked my Denon and it seems fine. That said, it isn't overly bright or glarey.

Mine was fine when I had one too years ago. Cost to replace with another model would be as cheap I imagine. £10 seems to be a going rate, but check with Denon if they can recommend a fix you can do if you want to keep the one you have.
