what is the sound like on the denon 2012 bluray player, has it got a lot of bass weight,because thats what sound i'm looking for.the marantz 7006 sound is really thin and has literally no weight at all.

i've got b&w cm5's front dynauduio centre and b&w 686 at the back and a denon 2310 amp

I don't think your blu ray player is to blame here. The heart of any system is the AV receiver, & that's the weakest link in your system. Have you checked the settings of your receiver? Make sure you have set the speakers as "small" so that the subwoofer gets more work.

in reply to bigboss, i've set my speakers to small before and i found that setting speakers like that you then lose a full bodied surround experience,and the subs just blasting away,making a very uncomfortable listen.

What's your crossover set at? Looks like you've set your crossover to too high. I'm convinced that tweaking your settings will solve your problem, & not changing a blu ray player.
