Dear all,

I have this dream of coming home after a long day, take the phone out of my pocket, press the button and get my favorite songs playing right away through my Hi-Fi speakers.

I been searching a lot and came up with this solution.

https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-BT2A-Bluetooth-Receiver-Wolfson/dp/B00G2CQFT0

However, I'm not sure if there's something out there better. There's one thing I know for certain though. If there is, you can point me in the right direction.

Plus, I listen to a lot of R&B/Hip Hop and been thinking about buying a subwoofer - a PreSonus Temblor T10, to be specific. I currently own a pair of PreSonus E5. Do you think the subwoofer is worth it?

Thanks a lot,

Depending on the streaming service I'd recommend a Chromecast Audio (Apple Music doesn't support Chromecast for example, but Spotify, Deezer, Tidal and Google Play Music all do).

https://www.google.com/chromecast/audio/

If you're an Apple Music user then look at using Airplay, though personally I wouldn't recommend Apple's own hardware e.g Airport Express, it's grossly overpriced even by Apple's standards for a product that hasn't seen an update in 5 years and seems to have been abandoned.

i would instead look at using a third party AirPlay receiver, like for example the Neet Airstream or Airstream Pro instead

Wow thanks for your input, Dave. I think this might be it!

Plus, it would allow me to play for several speakers through Wi-fi, right? (assuming I would buy a unit for each division and connect multiple speakers to the chromecast with RCA/3.5)

Yes.

Thanks. This really does sound like a good solution for what I was looking for.

Can you advice me on the subwoofer as well, please? Do you think it's worth it?

I have first hand experience of using a sub but not first hand experience of using it to listen to hip-hop and what now passes for R&B; frankly I'd rather have my urinary passage violated with a six inch rusty iron nail, but based on my experience I think a sub would be of benefit to you. I haven't heard the one you mention.

*ROFL*

Regardless of our differences regarding music tastes I'm grateful for your input, Major. Thanks.

No worries, my most serious advice would be try a sub on the proviso you can return it if not 100% happy, it may simply just sound rubbish in your room, or amazing. Audio sort-of is an exact science if you remove enough variables, but the biggest variable of all is the acoustics of an untreated domestic living-room.

I will do that, Major

Once again, thank you very much for your help.
