Date of each issue

Since I discovered this magazine, I wonder why each magazine is published 2 months before it's publication date?

13 issues a year, including Awards issue, so about this time of year the dates get all kinda out of synch. They go back to sensible after the Awards issue, December issue out late November, etc...
